Q-1What was special about kite flying in Afghanistan?
Ans-The speciality of kite flying in Afghanistan was that this tournament was an old winter tradition. When the tournament started then it would last until it got the winning kite flying in the sky. Sometimes it would last daylight and all the people gathered on sidewalks and even on roofs to cheer up for their kids.
Q2- Why should a kite fighter have an assistant? What was Hassan’s role here?
Ans- kite flyers need assistants to hold the spool and feed the string to the flyers and also run the kites when they fell. Hasan was incharge of running down kites as they were cut.
Q3- Why did Amir want to withdraw ?What was he afraid of?
Ans- Amir was scared that he would lose and thereby let his father down .He thus wanted to withdraw.
Q4- Explain Hassan’s favourite trick.
Ans- It was the old lift and dive Where a kite was lifted and suddenly brought down in a sharp dive baiting the other kite and cutting it.
Q5- Amir kept looking at Baba during the kite flying tournament. Why? What do you think he wanted to prove.
Ans- Amir’s Baba was fine kite runner in his youth and Amir wanted to prove he was great too. He wanted to show he was capable of winning and earn his respect and pride.

Q1-Why is victory both a solvation and redemption for Amir?
Ans -Amir wanted to win as it would boast his ‘self esteem’. He would prove himself as someone brave and confident and not a failure, especially in the eyes of his father. In a way it would serve as ‘salvation and redemption,’ both for his father’s respect and his mother’s death. He believed that he was responsible for this.
